The Avengers

Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the films, had to up his caloric intake to maintain his muscular physique. He said he had to eat his body weight in grams of protein every day. That’s a lot of protein.

Avengers: Infinity War has earned $1.9 billion at box offices worldwide, making it the fourth highest-grossing film of all time. It is also the fastest film to reach $1 billion at the worldwide box office ever. That’s a whole lot of very sad people shuffling out of very crowded theaters after the credits rolled.

Scenes that took place in Wakanda, the fictional African country that served as the setting of Black Panther, were filmed in Atlanta. Additional filming locations include Queens, New York, as well as several locations in Scotland. But most of Infinity War was filmed in Georgia.

At one point, Iron Man crashes in front of a restaurant called Shawarma Palace, and it must have given him a craving for Mediterranean food. In a post-credits scene, the Avengers relax at the restaurant, but it wasn’t in the original script. The cast and crew filmed the scene quickly a day after the global premiere.

In the comics, Hawkeye is usually ambidextrous, which means he’s proficient with both his right and left hands. In real life, actor Jeremy Renner is left-handed. Still, you can see Renner shoot right-handed in Thor.

The Avengers came about when there was a printing delay on Daredevil #1. Stan Lee threw a bunch existing heroes into a team to rival DC’s Justice League.

Infinity War includes characters and settings from many existing Marvel intellectual properties. However, its script draws heavily from two comics; Jim Starlin’s The Infinity Gauntlet, and Jonathan Hickman’s Infinity, which both feature Thanos leading an offensive against earth.

Tony Stark can be seen wearing a Black Sabbath T-shirt on the Hellicarrier. Black Sabbath is known for their song “Iron Man,” and Stark quotes the lyrics of the song at the end of 2008’s Iron Man when he says, “I am Iron Man.”

After Doctor Strange peers into over 14 million—14,000,605, to be exact—possible future timelines using the time stone, he claims to have seen one timeline that wins over Thanos. The rest of his actions can be seen as setting up this one timeline, including losing the fight to Thanos, giving up the time stone, and being erased from existence.

Scarlet Witch once became pregnant after getting involved with The Vision, despite him being an android. It was later revealed that Scarlet Witch had created her children using her magical mutant powers.

Infinity War makes a whole bunch of fun pop culture references. Iron Man refers to one of Thanos’s underlings, Ebony Maw, as Squidward, a character from Spongebob Squarepants. Thanos himself is referred to as Grimace, a swarthy purple McDonald’s mascot. I definitely see the resemblance.
